Our
School
CIS
is a model of excellence. It has been exclusively devoted to the
teaching of languages since its founding in l974 and is fully
accredited through the Yucatan Secretary of Education.
Instructors
are experienced native-speaking teachers, well trained and enthusiastic
about their profession. Beginning, intermediate and advanced and
superior levels of study are available. Groups are quite small
(usually 1-6 students) allowing for maximum individual attention.
Courses
start every Monday year-round. Minimum enrollment is one week,
with tuition discounts available for students who register for
four weeks or more of study.
Special
cultural enrichment programs are available for Spanish
teachers and other advanced learners in the summer and at other
scheduled times. Custom-designed, special interest programs may
be provided for groups in a variety of fields. |

CIS is located in Merida, the largest and most cosmopolitan
city in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, an area rich
in history, abundant in subtropical beauty, and which
serves as the gateway to the world famous Mayan archeological
ruins.
Merida
is a medium-sized city renowned through out Mexico for
its safety, cleanliness, hospitality and fine cuisine.
It’s gracious, tree-lined avenues, pleasing architecture
and active cultural and recreational life make it an ideal
location for a study experience in Mexico.
Enthusiasts
of water sports and
marine life will find the port of Progreso, located only
21 miles north of Merida, a valuable resource for weekend
and afternoon recreation and relaxation. Celestun, Sisal
and Rio Lagartos are other prime spots along our 231 miles
of sandy beaches for observing wild life or simply soaking
up the quiet atmosphere of Yucatan.
